PILOT (searching for halmonie zine #0)

searching for 할머니 is my journey of reconnecting with my grandma and confronting my demons in korea and beyond. They traverse time and generations, jumping between my childhood in oregon and my first time visiting family in korea 20 years later.

pilot is my first prequel to an upcoming 12-part zine series. A very special pink character makes its first appearance here. I describe my first panic attack experience. 

What's included in this??

• a 35 page comic perzine
• 3 ad breaks, which aren't actually ads but just my goofy thoughts paired with goofy doodles
• a fun little dictionary with some translations, fun links, and my random comments

It's still a work-in-progress! Here are some upcoming plans I have (as of Jan.9 2024)...

• turn pilot into a physical zine! Zine fests look so fun and I wanna join too
• make stickers! I just borrowed a cricut from my local library (libraries are my best friend) and want to try making my own. I had to rage quit today (1/9/24) because I don't have the cricut magical touch. Once I can wingardium leviosa this cricut, hopefully I can include them in my physical zines hehe
• finish up my next zine! The plan is to make 12 zines. The next zine planned is called 서울역 (seoul station)

Jan.12 2024 update: I'm planning to make the itch.io link free for a limited time. BUT i'm working out a sliding scale payment. This is later tho. Free now. The google slides link will probably be free forever. I'll keep you posted.
